THE ARTISTS

Susan Ashbrook

Susan Ashbrook is an award-winning painter, who studied at Mount Allison University in New Brunswick and Algonquin College in Ottawa.  While her formal training was in oils, Susan has become fascinated with the unlimited potential of the newer acrylic paints and other media. Her current work is abstract and semi-abstract, inspired by natural elements and the world around her.  Susan loves sharing her knowledge with others and has taught a wide variety of art classes and workshops.  www.susanashbrook.com

Fortunée Shugar

Fortunée Shugar’s emotive and textured work reflects her interpretation of spatial relationships and spontaneous expression.  Her use of colour, in paint and a variety of different media, creates powerful and emotional multi-dimensional forms. Building on formal art studies at Sir George Williams University in Montréal and the University of Ottawa, and experience in animation and clothing design, Fortunée has exhibited her paintings widely; they are held in many private collections both in Canada and abroad. www.fortuneeshugar.com
